Diginomics: Published Resources

“Diginomics” Recognized in Spain

diginomics (en espanol)“Diginomics” began here in Houston in 1998 (not the scientific technology, but the term itself) when it was first posted on the Internet. Do a web search, and you will find increasing global trending of the term, just as was originally desired.

Now, there is a book —  “Diginomics: The impact of technology in business” — that has been published by a couple of professors, Gabriel and Patrick Foglia O’Gorman, members of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Palermo. In Google, you can have the reference page translated. Check it out: http://diginomicsinfo.wordpress.com/

Future of Mobile Payments 2013

PaymentEye - Mobile Payments report“Many industry analysts have predicted that 5.4 billion smartphone handsets will be in circulation worldwide by 2015. This is expected to spur buoyant growth for various mobile-enabled services, especially ‘Mobile Payments’ or ‘m-payments’. The increased adoption of smartphones could result in $1 trillion of m-payments worldwide by 2015. M-payments subscribers will increase from 206 million worldwide users at the end of 2010 to 1,050 million users by the end of 2015.”

Those predictions and more appear in the Future of Mobile Payments 2013 special report produced by the editors of PaymentEye.com, a “global news intelligence and analysis tool for a network of professionals involved in the payments sector worldwide, from innovative start-ups and clearing banks to merchant PoS innovators and mobile solutions companies.”

The full 45-page downloadable version is available for a reasonable subscription price. An 11-page Executive Summary is also available (free of charge).

Bankers and politicians are either perplexed by its uncanny technological complexities or intrigued by its unregulated behavioral patterns. In all cases, curiosity abounds as attempts to simply define it run afoul.

“I do think Bitcoin is the first [encrypted money] that has the potential to do something like change the world.” – Peter Thiel, Co-Founder of PayPal
